Header Driver, Dowerin WA
Job Description
- Dates: 27 Oct – 19 Dec (approx);
- Header Operator required for a 3800ha cropping program with JD machinery;
- Some chaser bin may be required, and a bonus if you have a truck licence – job rotation ideal to keep everyone fresh;
- Header + GPS experience required, as is drivers licence;
- Evening meal maybe provided during busy times;
- Up to $45/hour depending on experience and truck licence;
- Hours are weather dependent, but typically 6 days per week, 10-14 hours per day, 3 hrs Sunday for maintenance;
- Location: 23km from Dowerin.

Skills / minimum level of experience required:
1 year minimum experience driving a header.
Prefer a person who also is also an accredited MC driver so they can move between the header and truck if possible.
Capable of carrying out basic daily maintenance procedures.
Experienced using Greenstar guidance.
Valid Australian drivers licence.
Able to successfully complete our farm;s online HR and WHS induction.
Ability to work keeping safety and compliance front of mind in a busy environment.
Machinery to be operated:
JD S780 with 40ft front
JD 8R 340 FWA with 40T Nyrex Chaser Bin
CAT Road train (if you hold an MC licence)

Typical days + hours to be worked during peak / off peak times:
All purely dependent on weather, however usually 6 days per week 10 - 14hrs per day, 3 hrs Sunday for maintenance. Days that we can't harvest, casual employees can have off.
Hourly rate range:
$35-$45 depending on experience & if you hold an MC licence
Team size:
4 fulltime + 1 casual currently

Family of 3 running the farm + 1 fulltime employee
