3 x Hay Baler Operators, Mundulla West SA (REF 14633)
Job Description
Assist with our hay and straw contract baling season, operating modern large square balers(featuring gazeeka moisture meters and hay inoculant applicators) along with other hay equipment.
- Dates: Early September – Early March 2026 (approx.);
- $28-$38 p/h based on experience;
- Peak – 7 days per week min 8hrs/day (subject to weather conditions) Off peak 3-5 days per week 6-8hrs/day (subject to jobs available);
- 3-bedroom stone house (on rain water), shared kitchen (fully equipped), laundry and bathroom, air cond.
About the role:
- Hay raking, baling;
- Operating a Morris pro-ag bale stacker;
- Loading trucks and stacking bales using JCB telehandlers;
- Responsible for all daily checks, greasing, twining up balers and carrying out servicing of machines and tractors when due;
- Assist with breakdowns;
- Cleaning off machines daily;
- Refueling tractors;
- Complete any relative paperwork;
- We provide a well-equipped, fully enclosed workshop for pre and post season maintenance and major breakdowns through the season.
About you:
- Excellent understanding of machinery and mechanically minded;
- Experience with welding, oxy acetylene use, cordless power tools;
- Previous experience operating large square balers;
- Experience with all hay making duties;
- To be able to work in a team, as a team, or individually;
- High level of English speaking and communication;
- Highly motivated;
- manual car licence required;
- Understand GPS and monitors.
