Job Description

***OPERATOR ROLES FILLED – COOK POSITION STILL AVAILABLE***

  • Dates: 30 March – 06 June (approx);

We’re a family-owned farming operation looking for a capable and reliable seeding operator to join us for the seeding season. You’ll be operating either a John Deere 9R590 or 9570RT towing an 18m airseeder, working closely with the farm owner as part of a hands-on team.  Those who have a partner will be considered if partner has ability to cook meals for the team.

We take a lot of pride in doing the job properly – looking after our gear, paying attention to detail, and setting the crop up right from the start.

What’s on offer:

  • A good job in a great team operating modern John Deere equipment.
  • Purpose built accommodation with individual rooms for singles or couples. Separate male and female bathrooms.
  • Work vehicle for travel to and from work and around the local area when needed.
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner during peak periods.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Operating the seeding rig safely and accurately throughout the seeding period.
  • Daily pre-start checks, fuelling, greasing, and keeping the cab tidy.
  • Helping with refilling seed and fertiliser.
  • Keeping an eye on job quality and picking up any issues early.
  • Lending a hand with general farm work before seeding kicks off.

What we value:

  • A strong focus on safety and doing a quality job.
  • Practical mechanical skills and respect for machinery.
  • A positive, team-first attitude and willingness to help where needed.

This role would suit someone who enjoys being part of a family business, takes pride in their work, and wants to contribute to a smooth, well-run seeding program. Work post seeding is available for the right candidate.
