Job Description

  • Dates: mid April – mid June (approx.), dates can be flexible;
  • Air seeder operator required to join this family run 4000ha wheat, barley, canola, lupins, lentils, oats, hay cropping program;
  • Lunch and dinner provided during season;
  • $30-$40/hr depending on experience;
  • 10-15 hour days during peak season;
  • Manual car licence required;
  • Donga accommodation with bed, heating/air con, kitchenette, bathroom, tv, wifi;
  • Excellent English and communication skills required.

Role involves:

  • Seeding preparation depending on start date includes machinery maintenance, paddock tidy and training.
  • Main duties will be operating the seeding rig which includes a Case Steiger 550 4WD tractor, Simplicity bin (granular fertiliser, grain & liquid fert), 60ft DBS bar with Agtron blockage monitors.
  • Also required to assist with filling and daily maintenance (refuelling, greasing, check oils and hoses).
  • During weather or break down delays you will do general duties including rubbish runs, fencing and workshop tidy.
  • If experienced or capable, potential to drive the self propelled boomspray and assist with chemical and liquid fertilizer paddock filling via a nurse tank set up.
  • Post seeding duties include clean down, rock picking, spreading urea and spraying.

Skills / minimum level of experience required:

Some machinery experience preferred, must have a manual drivers licence.
Must speak and understand English.
