Job Description

  • Dates: mid Feb to late July;
  • 2x operators required to join a team of 9 – those travelling together will be considered;
  • As well as operating the air seeder, you may be required to undertake any of the following duties:
  • Operate spreaders, loaders, telehandler, fencing, possible stock work, vehicle and machine maintenance, nurse truck duties, deep ripper, mouldboard plough, kelly chain, rock picking;
  • Experience with the above machines preferred; seeding experience advantageous.

Other details:

  • Work vehicles can be used for trips to town for shopping etc. Permission must be sought for trips over 100kms from home. Geraldton and Dongara are permitted.
  • We supply pre-prepared evening meals during seeding and we will also pay for breakfast and lunch supplies purchased at local supermarkets during seeding.
  • It is also likely you will be provided with lamb.
  • Located 12km from town.

Skills / minimum level of experience required:

We would prefer staff with at least a couple of seedings experience and/or experience with the above machines. Mechanical knowledge would be a plus.
Any extra licences and training ie. mixing chemicals would be wonderful.

Ausplow deep ripper

Typical days + hours to be worked during peak / off peak times:
Normal day is 7am- 5pm. Peak will be longer. Possible 12 hour shifts during seeding. Similar for deep ripping, plowing etc. Spreading maybe 7am-7/9pm
Hourly rate range:
$30- $35
Team size:
4- directors, 3- full timers, 2- seasonal
Current team structure:
4x family members/ directors, 2 work full time, 1 semi retired and 1 mixed in office and field. 2x Full time staff 1x all round farm hand and 1x livestock manager
