Job Description

  • Dates: March to July 2026;
  • Opportunity for a motivated General Farm Hand for 4-5 months to tackle a variety of tasks on this mixed property.  Duties such as:
  • Trail sheep feeding (grain)
  • Drenching and vaccinating sheep
  • Rock picking with JCB telehandler
  • Carting straw with Scania truck from paddock
  • Super/Lime spreading
  • Paddock cleanup (burning tree piles and smoothing paddock with loader, JCB and small dump rake for smoothing dirt)
  • Scarifying paddocks with tractor
  • Removing and building fences
  • General maintenance of equipment and sheep yards cleanup (such as removing sheep manure from yards and shearing shed)
  • Typically 8am start until 5.30. Mostly regular 5 days weeks with weekends off. We will require rostered weekends for feeding sheep in the mornings
  • Located 30km from Frankland River.

There might possibly be work at a neighbours if a couple for a similar time period
Skills / minimum level of experience required:

- We require the applicant to have a good sense in operating all types of machinery from a trailing sheep feeder to telehandlers and front end loaders. - Stock handling experience required, such as moving sheep in yards and drenching/vaccinating - we will be working alongside to help you become more experienced.
- Happy to train where needed and provide help if required to build skills.
- Safe use of general vehicle/ machinery as we have small children on the farm.

Claas Axion FWA tractor with super spreader
Scania Truck (on farm only) for carting straw
Grain Augers for filling sheep feeder
Manual utes with sheep feeder

Description of Accommodation:
Old house. Looks daggy from the outside however inside is good such as kitchen and bedrooms. Has a decent sized living room with aircon and wood fire. New hot water system. House is furnished with couch, dining table, queen beds, fridge, TV etc.
